Amani War Bear!

Woot! About my tenth bear run, and I got this puppy. It rides kind of weird but looks awesome!

Naga Please?

Sunday, May 25, 2008

Saturdays are pretty "alt friendly" if you'll call it that. Himisada has STILL been trying to get a Dragonspine Trophy to drop, we got our first last week and a Prog. Raiding rogue took it. Least to say it was a little upsetting, we've been doing magtheridon/gruuls for just about everyones' alts for about 3-4 months. But no luck now this week, we got crap loot. But good friends of mine, Himisada, Sethcran, and Galoshes, along with myself, have decided to do SSC and TK raids, along with magtheridon and gruul. All of their mains are tier 6 equivalent, so they bring their alts which are easily geared for SSC and the Eye. We do lurker, take a few wipes on Morogrim (we finally decided to make our prot pally log his main and just own everything) (see: http://i25.tinypic.com/23svp1l.png), also did Karathress, wiped on the trash to Leo by my mistake, and decided to go to Vashj since it was late. Had about a wipe or so, but everything else went smooth. No Lightfathom Scepter, or Coral Band of the Revived. No worries, I have a feeling we'll be doing these raids often. We set it up ourselves, and will be running a DKP system. For those interested, check: Downfall Forums: PuGTown, it's our own little forum that we had set up for us. Everything seems to be working smoothly so far. Plus, I am done with school now, and it's time to enjoy the summer!

Sunwell Makes the Head Hurt. Truth?

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

I indeed believe the above statement is a fact.

After one of the only nights sitting a while ago, and Tranquil Majesty Wraps dropped, and now we've yet to see another pair. We wiped on Kalecgos for about an hour until trash respawned. Cleared again, and by that time raid time was done. Two trash clears and we only have two pairs of those gloves.

I kept looking for reasons on why we'd wipe. Decurse was fine, healing didn't seem to be a problem.. But I saw a lot of people taking explosions.

/facepalm

Just hoping we can kill him tonight and maybe start working on twins again.

Last Night Was Interesting

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Yesterday, we were supposed to be working on Eredar Twins. I log on about 30 minutes before raid time to go see how our roster is looking. I see about 28 people online, most of our "Progress Raider" members not here. So we venture into Hyjal. I won't lie, I hate waves of adds. Call me not fair, but I love to heal melee through death and decays. I just whisper them "stay in - if I suck and let you die you get a BR." All of my BR's went to Himisada, who would get aggro on certain waves before certain bosses. Rage dropped Cuffs of Devastation (if there was another item I wasn't really paying attention).. Anetheron happened to drop Enchanted Leather Sandals for me, and a Blade of Infamy. Kazrogal drops crap, and I passed the feral mantle, the healing pants went to our elemental shaman. On the waves for Azgalor I kept feeling really sick. Figures I throw up on wave 6, 7, and then on 8. Azgalor drops Shady Dealer's Pantaloons, and I pass for merely the sake of rarely going feral, so the druid we recruited as feral who is now resto took them. I believe they're the best DPS pants until sunwell. We got one pair of Vanquisher gloves, but I decided I would pass since I already got one item today. So finally we come to Archimonde. The retard check, right? Avoid fires and don't suck. I was second on third on decursing, my group had a LOT of fire so I was watching to keep the people who ran into it up. He happened to drop TWO Helm of the Forgotten Vanquisher, and one Helm of the Forgotten Protector. I did get the T6 helm, because it was still on my loot list. He also dropped the Scepter of Purification that I can use if I ever get a 1H. All in all it was a very good day of raiding for me. At the end I was given "raiding member." It makes me happy to see that they think they can finally bring me full time to raids.

Long post, mainly about loot, but yeah. Don't mind me!

UI

Sunday, May 11, 2008

I can't seem to get a lot of sleep tonight.. So I figured: Addon/UI talk. I hate playing without my UI. I feel crippled. It makes me heal better, no I'm not a noob because I use an addon that shows approximately how much a heal will hit for.

Anyway, this is my UI:
Screenshot two - This is the second SS I took tonight, actually. The font is a bit messed up because I had to reload my UI.

First taken - This is the first, I don't exactly like it because it was during the twin flames phase... And that's a lot of bright green. So from looking at my addons, what can you point out? I can point out AtlasLoot, Bagnon, Buffalo, ClearFont2, CowTip, DBM, Decursive, DrDamage, HotCandy, Lifebloomer, Minimalist, Outfitter, PhanxChat, Quartz, simpleMinimap, SLTimex, and Xperl. That is esentially all I use, and FuBar which is at the top, but hidden until I mouseover. What do each of them do?

AtlasLoot is a given. Bagnon makes your bags easily searchable, and has a nifty look. ClearFont2, because I hate Blizz's fonts, CowTip so I can be nosy and see people's guild ranks or who they're targeting without actually targeting them, DBM is a must, Decursive just because I am a druid, DrDamage to see how much things will on average hit for, HotCandy to track hots, Lifebloomer to track certain players or tanks, Minimalist to hide the dragons, and little things, Outfitter because I change gear a lot, Phanxchat so things are easily manageable, Quartz for a cast time, simpleMinimap so it can be moved, SLTimex so I can keep track of my time, and what time it is in game (I am roughly three hours ahead), and Xperl because I love the frames.

I remember running with a bunch of people in a Kara then ZA raid. I was topping healing, I would raidheal, and on boss fights I generally kept one(two) tanks up if necessary, both HoT'd, and I would watch out for the raid. When I asked how many addons they used, if any: omen and blizzard frames. That my dear friend is... Not so good. A lot people nag at me, I use a computer with 256MB of ram, and I run so many addons, (as you can see my shitty FPS during Illidan), but I make it work. Does that classify me as a noob because I use these mods? /shrug. Just my insight.

About

Allurai Armory | Nectar Armory. Server: Dalaran, Guild: Downfall

About Nectar/Allurai

My first character was a druid, on the Dalaran server during the first week of release. I don't exactly remember her name because it was so long ago. I deleted her at about level 10, I was obsessed with.. hunter pets. So I leveled a toon named "Taintedangel," on the Dalaran server. I leveled her as survival, and for a while I just played and leveled. When I hit 60, I applied to raiding guilds (go go UBRS and scholo/baron raids!). I remember on my birthday I got the Beaststalker's Mantle. Slowly after that, I started to raid Molten Core. That lead to Blackwing Lair, to Ahn'Qiraj 40 man, to Naxxramas. I have been in many guilds, but my most noteworth were Flame of the Phoenix, Might and Magic, Ëminence. Ëminence is where I progressed from BWL to Naxx. We were almost done with Naxx before BC came out, and we were number one. When BC hit, we tried to split our 40 man raids to, well.. 10 and 25. Low and behold, there was always "Group A" and "Group B." Group B is always the worst. Or whichever group didn't have my guildmaster in it. I was generally in group B back then, I wasn't the best and I was highly annoying. The guild broke apart, and I took a break from the game. Upon coming back, and meeting with an old friend of mine from Ëminence, and he was leading a guild, called Requital. (At that time I renamed my hunter to Allurai), We can call him Drew (Bigdrew to be exact). When I was there I slowly worked my way up to officer. When one of oru main tanks decided to quit, (Steven, Illson), and Drew quit a while later, my friend Garrett (Noname) and I took leadership upon ourselves. We lead the guild through SSC and killed Vashj, but after Christmas came of 07, the guild slowly fell apart. After that I decided to reroll, to Nectar.

Nectar was leveled as feral till about 25. Once at that level I decided boomkin was the way I wanted to play. I had robes of insight, leveled LW, and everything ran smoothly. I healed in 5 mans if there was no healer spec person there, heck I was spec'd for mana stuff so I figured I could heal too. I hit 70 in about a week. I was run through karazhan, and magtheridon/gruul's lair. When I had mostly T4 a friend of mine got me into timed ZA runs, where I showed my skill. Nowadays I currently run Sunwell Plateau when they are a healer short, and usually I am let in for Black Temple. I try to play the class the best that I can, and I am loving every minute of it.

Beginnings

Saturday, May 10, 2008

So, I've decided to make a blog and test this out.

Recently I've had a lot of energy and I wanted to try this out. I hope I can contribute some useful things to the community. Although much of my things will refer to World of Warcraft, some RL stuff may be posted. I hope what I post may be useful to someone, and I hope some of it is valued. I therefore have some hope of contributing to the greater good by sharing what little information I stumble upon to others like me.
